Take the picture down, and measure the distance from the top of the picture, to the hook or wire on the back of the picture that will hold it.

Now measure that same distance down from the pencil mark on the wall, and make another mark. That mark is where you need to put your hook to hold your picture.

When putting your hook in the wall you will want to make sure you hit a wall stud for a secure hold. If one is not where you want to hang your picture frame, then you will want to use a wall molly, available at any hardware store.
